Filtering leads by job title

The job title filter helps you find leads with specific roles or seniority levels. It works with both Post Engagement and ICP Search.

How it works

Start typing a job title and LinkDeal shows autocomplete suggestions:

• VP Sales
• Head of Marketing
• Sales Development Representative
• Chief Technology Officer

Select a title to filter results to people with matching roles.

Matching behaviour

The filter uses flexible matching:

• "VP Sales" matches "VP of Sales", "Vice President Sales", etc.
• "Marketing" matches "Marketing Manager", "Head of Marketing", "Marketing Director"
• Partial matches are included when relevant

This means you do not need to enter exact titles.

Case sensitivity

The filter is not case-sensitive. "vp sales", "VP Sales", and "VP SALES" all work the same way.

Multiple titles

You can select multiple job titles to broaden your search. For example:

• VP Sales + Head of Revenue + CRO

This finds leads matching any of these titles.

Using in Post Engagement vs ICP

Post Engagement: The filter narrows results after the search runs. You still pay for the full search, but only see leads matching your title filter.

ICP Search: The filter combines with your natural language description. You can also include job titles in the description itself.

Best practices

Be specific enough: "Manager" is too broad. "Marketing Manager" is better. "Demand Generation Manager" is most targeted.

Consider variations: Decision-makers have different titles at different companies. A "VP Sales" at one company might be "Head of Revenue" at another.

Do not over-filter: Very specific titles might exclude good leads. Start broad and narrow if you get too many results.

Common title categories

C-suite: CEO, CFO, CTO, CMO, CRO, COO

VPs and Directors: VP Sales, VP Marketing, Director of Engineering

Managers: Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, Product Manager

Individual contributors: Account Executive, SDR, BDR, Customer Success Manager
