Unlocking post commenters
Learn how to unlock commenters on a LinkedIn post to find high-intent leads who took the time to write a response.
Last updated: 8 August 2026
Comment unlock reveals the top commenters on a LinkedIn post. Commenters are often higher-intent leads than reactors because they took the time to write something rather than just clicking a button.
Why commenters are valuable
Leaving a comment requires more effort than reacting. Someone who comments:
- Read the post carefully enough to respond
- Has an opinion or question about the topic
- Is comfortable engaging publicly
This makes commenters excellent prospects for outreach.
How it works
When you find a lead through Post Engagement search, their lead card shows which post they engaged with. Click "Unlock Commenters" to see the top 10 people who commented on that post.
This costs 10 credits.
What you see
For each commenter, you see:
- Their profile picture and name
- Current job title and company
- Their comment text
- A link to view their LinkedIn profile
The comment text is particularly valuable. It shows exactly what the person thought about the topic.
Using comments for outreach
Comments give you ready-made conversation starters:
Example approach:
"I saw your comment on [Company]'s post about [topic]. You mentioned [specific point from their comment]. I would love to hear more about your experience with..."
This is highly personalised because you are referencing their exact words.
When to use Comment Unlock
Comment Unlock works best when:
- The original post has substantial comments
- You want the highest-intent leads from a popular post
- You are targeting a specific conversation thread
It is available for Post Engagement searches only. ICP Search leads do not have associated posts to unlock comments from.
Cost considerations
At 10 credits per unlock, Comment Unlock is more expensive than Recent Posts (5 credits). Use it selectively for high-value posts where the comment quality justifies the cost.
