Unlocking a lead's recent posts

Learn how the Recent Posts feature reveals what a lead has been engaging with, and how to use engagement scores for outreach.

Last updated: 8 August 2026

The Recent Posts feature reveals what a lead has been posting and engaging with on LinkedIn. This gives you valuable context for personalised outreach and helps you identify the most active leads.

What Recent Posts shows

When you unlock a lead's recent posts, you see:

  • Their last 5-10 LinkedIn posts
  • The engagement each post received (reactions, comments, shares)
  • An overall engagement score

This costs 5 credits per lead.

The engagement score

LinkDeal calculates an engagement score for each lead based on their recent activity:

Formula: Reactions + (Comments x 2) + (Shares x 3)

Higher scores indicate more active LinkedIn users. A lead with a score of 500 is likely posting regularly and getting good engagement. A lead with a score of 20 might be less active.

Why engagement scores matter

Active LinkedIn users are often:

  • More likely to see your connection request
  • More likely to respond to InMail or email
  • More receptive to social selling approaches

If you have limited time, prioritise leads with higher engagement scores.

Using recent posts for outreach

Recent posts give you natural conversation starters:

Example outreach:

"I enjoyed your recent post about [topic]. You mentioned [specific point] which really resonated with my experience at [your company]..."

This shows:

  • You actually looked at their content
  • You have something relevant to discuss
  • You are not sending a generic template

When to unlock recent posts

Unlock recent posts when:

  • A lead looks promising and you want more context
  • You are about to reach out and need personalisation hooks
  • You want to prioritise between similar-looking leads

Do not unlock for every lead. Start with your highest-priority leads and expand from there.

Bulk unlocking

You can unlock recent posts for multiple leads at once from the History page. Select the leads you want and click "Unlock Recent Posts". This is faster than unlocking one at a time but still costs 5 credits per lead.
