Finding leads by keyword

Use keyword search to find people engaging with LinkedIn posts about specific topics, regardless of which company posted.

Last updated: 8 August 2026

Keyword search in Post Engagement mode lets you find people engaging with LinkedIn posts about specific topics. Instead of targeting one company's audience, you cast a wider net across all posts containing your keywords.

How it works

When you enter a keyword or phrase, LinkDeal:

  1. Searches LinkedIn for recent posts containing that keyword
  2. Identifies people who have reacted to those posts
  3. Returns lead cards with profile details and reaction types

This is powerful for finding people interested in a topic regardless of which accounts they follow.

Entering keywords

In the Post Engagement tab, select "By Keyword" and enter your search term. Tips:

  • Use specific phrases: "sales automation" works better than "sales"
  • Include industry jargon: "RevOps" finds a more targeted audience than "revenue operations"
  • Try problem statements: "pipeline management challenges"

Date and sorting

Keyword search focuses on posts from the past month by default, sorted by relevance. This ensures you find people engaging with current content, not years-old posts.

Choosing good keywords

The best keywords indicate buying intent or active interest:

High intent examples:

  • "Looking for CRM recommendations"
  • "Switching from Salesforce"
  • "Best tools for SDRs"

Topic interest examples:

  • "Signal-based selling"
  • "LinkedIn prospecting"
  • "B2B lead generation"

Problem statements:

  • "Cold email not working"
  • "Sales pipeline challenges"
  • "Lead quality issues"

Combining keywords

You can use natural phrases rather than boolean operators:

  • "AI sales tools" finds posts about AI in sales
  • "Small business CRM" finds posts targeting SMBs
  • "Enterprise security software" finds posts in that space

Keep phrases to 2-4 words for best results. Very long phrases may return few matches.

Use keyword search when:

  • You do not have specific target companies
  • You want to explore a new market segment
  • You are looking for people discussing problems you solve

Use company search when:

  • You know which companies your buyers follow
  • You want to monitor competitor engagement
  • You have a defined account list

Both approaches find high-intent leads, they just start from different angles.
